What is transpersonal psychology?

Pioneered by the likes of Carl Jung and Abraham Maslow, transpersonal psychology deals with the full spectrum of the human experience. It aims to help us realise our full potential as humans, by working with not only thoughts and emotions, but with our life’s purpose and sense of spirituality - that is, compassion and interconnectedness. It’s about helping you get in touch with your highest self and create a life of total fulfilment.

Relationship Counselling.

My approach to relationship counselling is one which views the relationship as a vehicle for personal development - a mirror to face and heal our own wounds.

A healthy relationship requires both parties to establish their expectations, goals, values and beliefs and to share them openly with one another.

I use a pyramid approach…viewing “the relationship” as an entity of its own. To strengthen it, I work with each individual separately and strive to create a healthy container within which the relationship can flourish and grow.

I help you establish expectations and goals for your life and that of your relationship, and ensure that you feel safe, loved, seen and held.

My journey.

My journey into transpersonal counselling began when I was 20. Struggling with depression and an eating disorder, I was introduced to a transpersonal counsellor who supported me through this challenging time. Since then, I knew I wanted to assist people through their spiritual crises just as my theripist did with me.

Throughout my life, I have studied youth work, community services, and am now at the last leg of a social science degree. I have been a student of the Tibetan Buddhist Mayhanan Path for over 25 years, which has given me a deep understanding of the nature of the mind, as well as the importance of loving kindness and living with a compassionate heart.

Combined with my life experience and training, I have created my own client-centred approach to counselling that integrates the whole person; mind, body, and spirit.

What my clients say.

“Ginny has a beautiful genuine spirit…and truly cares about your wellbeing. If you want a healing experience, Ginny is the one for you.”

— Hilary Sims

“Ginny is a safe place find your authentic self. And sometimes we don’t realise how much ego we’ve built up until someone allows us to instantly feel safe enough to take off the mask, express the pain and begin to heal.”

— Rachel Potter
